So I was looking in my book that I track my training in and realized that I have been doing jiu-jitsu for a year now. Woo Hoo!! I have finally found something that I truly love to do. This summer I didn’t get to do as much jiu-jitsu as i wanted to, due to physical therapy on my shoulder and also getting engaged back in May of this year. So planning the wedding took a lot of my time, but now with the wedding come up in a 13 days, I actually have time to feel like I can breath again. I have continued to train since I got cleared from my shoulder back in late July. I went to the Atlanta Open at the end of the August and took third. I was pretty pumped with myself after being off for long and having to build back full strength.
So I have just been continuing to train and work hard. In the past year, I have learned a lot about myself and what I can do. I learn more and more each day I am on the mats. I have realized how much power I can have and how to manage it. Of course there are weeks that I can’t get on the mats as much as I want, but my mind is never far from the mats. It the first thing that make me want to work out and I feel worse when I don’t. Jiu-jitsu has become a way of life for me. And I’m looking forward to any years ahead.
I am going to be posting a lot more coming up…going to take this fall and winter to refresh and get ready for next year and the rest of my life.
